All-Solid State Batteries
▶ Why are we interested in the All-Solid State Batteries?
Currently, traditional Lithium ion batteries(LIBs) do not satisfy the increasing demands of high energy density. Also LIB using Organic liquid electrolytes(OLEs) suffers from safety concerns. As a consequence, all solid state batteries(ASSBs) is considered as ‘Next-generation-batteries’. ASSBs are more promising than LIBs due to their safety, energy density, cycle performance. However, their practical application is still a challenge. Since ASSBs use a Solid state electrolyte(SSEs), compared to OLEs, these show poor physical contact with electrode and ionic conductivity. Thus, intensive effort has been attracted to solve above problems.
